Amela Subašić is a Canadian artist. She was born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a child she admired her father's drawings; he was an architect with good sketching skills, and he was the one who inspired and encouraged her to draw and paint from an early age. Her mother was a literacy professor and she gave Amela her love for books and reading.

Amela graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, majoring in painting. She currently lives and paints in Vancouver, in beautiful British Columbia.
